History of the Bible

I am looking for some help in studying and understanding the history of the Bible - for example, when the books were written, when the Church declared the canon, what are other books that were written but declared not inspired, how was the Bible propagated until the present day…

If there are web links that detail any of this type of information, I would appreciate the help.
