Please present some information on the origin of the liturgy. What are its earliest known origins? When did it take the format we now use? Thanks. Barbara J.

The Scott Hahn book **The Lamb’s Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth **is an excellent one that describes quite a lot about the nature and purpose of the entire liturgy, as well as its association with the Bible. In it, Hahn says that realizing this was a huge reason he converted to Catholicism. It’s a pretty quick read, you may like it!
