I personally believe a Catholic state could successfully promote Catholicism without oppressing anyone which obviously is not a popular opinion in today’s very secular world.
Yeah - it happened in Maryland… which was begun by Catholics… They wrote it into their laws that they would discriminate against no one, no religion… and because of this tolerance, the Protestants gained political power… and changed the laws of that state (colony) so as to persecute Catholics…

I don’t know about anyone else, but that about says it all for me…

Hitler converted to a Protestant at the time of his mental illness.

What did Hitler believe in?

Some theories

Faithful Roman Catholic
Dissadent Roman Catholic
Agnoistic
Atheist
Occultist
Jew?

Please, I want a straight answer. I don’t want dogmatic preaching from atheists saying that Hitler used Christanity to carry out violence, it is clearly eveident that he was a hyprocite (saying he was faithful to Rome but at the same time destroying churches and killing priests)
POWER AND MONEY WAS HIS FALSE GOD ,MURDER AND MAYHAM WAS HIS WAY TO SATISFY THE UN HOLY ONE ,AND MAY ALL WHO SUFFERED AT HIS HANDS MAY OUR ONE TRUE GOD BLESS THEM LIVING AND DEAD FOR ALL ENTERNITY.AMEN:shamrock2:

Hitler believed in Hitler and he had a fanatically evangelical belief in “Hitlerism”, he thought everyone should believe in him too.

Anything that he could use to bolster that faith was fair territory as far as he was concerned.
Precisely.
That is, as I said earlier in this thread, Hitler belonged to the Atomic Church of Adolf.
Other people throughout history have belonged to the Atomic Church of Josef [Stalin], the Atomic Church of Genghis [Khan], etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Satan is alive and well, and deceiving people today. Even as we all quarrel about whether AH was:cool: Catholic or  Lutheran, or  whatever, the devil is taking over the minds & hearts of men & women.

Those who hate Catholics will persist in calling him a Catholic, because he was baptized Catholic…despite the fact, that the only thing that that particular piece of information proves, is that **Klara **Hitler was Catholic, and saw to it that her son was baptized.
His apostasy is scarcely her fault. Neither is it the fault of the Catholic Church.

Evil men worship themselves, and create their “gods” in their own image. Hitler, far from an exception, was a perfect example of this fact.

As I say: the devil is real, he is alive, & he leads people to follow him.
Been happening since the fall.
Will continue till the parousia.
“Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly”-- the Apocalypse of St John.

Hitler basically believed in his own delusions, fostered by a warped mind. While I am not sure if it can be argued Hitler was insane, clearly his beliefs and actions were so irrational they can’t be justified. Religion may have influenced his beliefs, but religion was probably only one of several influences in the formation of his beliefs.

in the begining maybe religion influenced him… but i feel that he let Satan take over him… Have you seen some of that footage of him haranguing to the crowds? Yikes…

Not that that’s the only reason for me saying he was possessed. His hatred of Jews and Catholics was the key proof of that…

Hitler was part of the Thule and Vril society which had its beginnings in Schwarze Sonne.

It is deeply steeped in HP Blavatsky; AA Bailey and A Crowley’s Luciferian teachings. Passed on thru Rosacrucian and Illuminati secret sects of today.

Regina coeli, ora pro nobis.

Born and bred a Catholic, he grew up in a religion and in a culture that was anti-semitic, and in persecuting Jews, he repeatedly proclaimed he was doing the “Lord’s work.”

You will find it in Mein Kampf: “Therefore, I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord’s Work.”

Hitler said it again at a Nazi Christmas celebration in 1926: “Christ was the greatest early fighter in the battle against the world enemy, the Jews … The work that Christ started but could not finish, I – Adolf Hitler – will conclude.”

In a Reichstag speech in 1938, Hitler again echoed the religious origins of his crusade. “I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews, I am fighting for the Lord’s work.”

Hitler regarded himself as a Catholic until he died. “I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so,” he told Gerhard Engel, one of his generals, in 1941.

There was really no reason for Hitler to doubt his good standing as a Catholic. The Catholic press in Germany was eager to curry his favor, and the princes of the Catholic Church never asked for his excommunication. Religions encourage their followers to hold authority in unquestioning respect; this is what makes devout religionists such wonderful dupes for dictators.

When Hitler narrowly escaped assassination in Munich in November, 1939, he said “The fact that I left the Burgerbraukeller earlier than usual is a corroboration of Providence’s intention to let me reach my goal.” Catholic newspapers throughout the Reich echoed this, declaring that it was a miraculous working of providence that had protected their Fuhrer. One cardinal, Michael Faulhaber, sent a telegram instructing that a Te Deum be sung in the cathedral of Munich, “to thank Divine Providence in the name of the archdiocese for the Fuhrer’s fortunate escape.” The Pope also sent his special personal congratulations!

Later the Pope was to publicly describe Hitler’s opposition to Russia as a “highminded gallantry in defense of the foundations of Christian culture.” Several German bishops openly supported Hitler’s invasion of Russia, calling it a “European crusade.” One bishop exhorted all Catholics to fight for “a victory that will allow Europe to breathe freely again and will promise all nations a new future.”

Biographer John Toland wrote of Hitler’s religion: “Still a member in good standing of the Church of Rome despite detestation of its hierarchy, he carried within him its teaching that the Jew was the killer of god. The extermination, therefore, could be done without a twinge of conscience since he was merely acting as the avenging hand of god – so long as it was done impersonally, without cruelty. Himmler was pleased to murder with mercy. He ordered technical experts to devise gas chambers which would eliminate masses of Jews efficiently and ‘humanely,’ then crowded the victims into boxcars and sent them east to stay in ghettos until the killing centers in Poland were completed.”

Jews, of course, were not the only “holy” victims. In Yugoslavia, Hitler installed a Croatian, Ante Pavelic, as his puppet, and Pavelic, a Catholic like Hitler, began extermination of the Serbs, who were Greek Orthodox. The Vatican was not unaware of the massacres conducted in Yugoslavia in the name of Catholicism, but Pope Pius remained diplomatically quiet. In fact, one of his actions was to receive Ante Pavelic in private audience, thereby giving his blessing to this regime.

I will take your word that the Catholic settlers of Maryland were tolerant. But…
The only group of people that I know of that didn’t persecute other sects, or religions, ever, were the Quakers. Correct me if I am wrong.

Definitely connections there, but Hitler was never actually a member of the Thule and would not join the fledgling German Workers Party (the political wing of Thule, later to become the National Socialist German Workers Party) until late 1919. Alfred Rosenberg and Rudolf Hess were active Thulists, both going on to high positions in the Third Reich.

He was evil and shrewd. Some religious people are sick and think that they are supposed to obey whatever authority happens to be around. I’m sure this fact was not lost on him.

I know Hitler had a lot of conflictions with religion in his life.

His life was also entwined in the occult, and some of his highest staff believed in it, but he was actually against it.

I think he was an Athiest.

Hitler was born Catholic **but later conveted to Protestanism **I read his biography and this is what it said.

As to his “catholic” convictions - he had everyone fooled at the time. That was the evil genius of his religious rhetoric.

His are the tactics of todays militant muslims who extol the beauty and virtue of Islam while they cut someone’s head off or send a child into a group of soldiers rigged with explosives.

Hitler was definitely an occultist, Thulist at heart - just like militant muslims are truly terrorists at heart while showing the face of Islam.

Hitler was ahead of his time in that he was able to create a government, a society, a multi-faceted infrastructure that converted the hearts and minds of even todays young (and not so young) racial supremacists.

Militant Islam has yet to do what Hitler’s legacy still does today. The occult nature of nazism tapped the philosophies and teaching of Blavatsky, Crowley and Bailey which are the cornerstone of todays new-age spiritual and wicca movements. They are the inevitable bridge that extend their stinging tendrils into the present and future of mankind.

Hitler may have been born a catholic but somewhere along the way that became the outward appearance to seduce a people, a nation…the world.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

As if Pope Pius was to blame for Hitler’s madness…but ya gotta blame somebody…🤷

The Nazis must have taken control of the Catholic newspapers somehow, through infiltration or life threats or both!

(Quote)When Hitler narrowly escaped assassination in Munich in November, 1939, he said “The fact that I left the Burgerbraukeller earlier than usual is a corroboration of Providence’s intention to let me reach my goal.” Catholic newspapers throughout the Reich echoed this, declaring that it was a miraculous working of providence that had protected their Fuhrer.

Hogwash! Simply hogwash!

(Quote)Biographer John Toland wrote of Hitler’s religion: “Still a member in good standing of the Church of Rome despite detestation of its hierarchy(…)”(Quote)

If he had stopped attending Mass for decades, Hitler could have uttered a lie. He was well above everything, in his view, and could say any lie he wished. If he could tell so many wrong things about the Jews, he could do the same with everything else! Funny you would not believe a thing about what he says against the Jews and yet you would believe him on anything else!!!

(Quote) Jews, of course, were not the only “holy” victims. If Hitler renegaded the teachings of the Catholic Church, it certainly happened to whoever he chose at the head of other countries who were “born Catholics”! And so, you haven’t really proven a thing! You are just following the propaganda that began spreading years AFTER Pope Pius XII’s death. And so I can’t consider your information valid and reliable…

I believe Hitler believed in himself. I mean, he went to great lengths to distort philosophical, mythological, and religious texts to make them all point to him as if he was a god or something.
