Our leaders, the Vatican has specifically stated this for the Priest and co-celebrants. It has never been stated for the laity in the Holy Mass.
Let’s please not start these misleading statements again. This has been hashed out over and over and we all know that it is at the Bishop’s discretion at this point.

While the statement that there are places where the priest and concelebrants are directed to use that gesture is correct, implying that the Vatican has said it is not acceptable to the laity is not correct.

Peace,

The Vatican has specifically given directives for this gesture to be used by the priests and concelebrants.
Am I wrong?
The Vatican has never given this directive to the laity in mass.
Am I wrong?
These are two statements of fact. Period.

I prefer to let the facts speak for themselves. And as I have stated many a time, check with your Bishop.

Michael Welter:
Well, since it states in verse 1 “all you servants of the Lord” I never saw that it applied just to leaders. And the Church has certainly not banned it, since it is commanded in Scripture.
How many of those servants of the Lord are in the Sanctuary?

I’m in the congregation.

Had you included the statement that it is up to the bishop I would have had no problem. It is in leaving it out, when it is the only relevant point, that your statements mislead people to believe that there is a problem.

I have no problem with you stating the facts and letting them speak for themselves, as long as you include all of the facts so people can make an informed judgment.

Peace to all,

Peace to all,
It’s really nice of you to be my “Post Police”, there John.😉

Perhaps you don’t give the people here enough credit. If THEY have a problem with the statement of facts given, perhaps they are not dolts and will check themselves. I stated two facts. If you have a problem with either one of them, talk to the Vatican.

Have you checked with Bishop Jugis yet?

I’m going for my last camping trip of the summer.
Have a blessed weekend
