Holding our hands out during Mass

Another no-no:

When the priest says, “THE LORD BE WITH YOU.”, we do not respond by mimicking his priestly actions when we say “AND ALSO WITH YOU (AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT)”. It is a priestly blessing. He is conferring God’s blessing on the laity as Christ’s representative in the Mass. It is improper for a layman to “return” the blessing by stretching out their hands to the priest.

I **slightly **hold my hands apart from each other (like in the picture except with my index and thumb not meeting ) like so http://www.sspx.org/Seasonal/holy_thursday_priesthood/priests_hands2.jpg That is the only time in the whole mass I hold my hands out. I try to remember that I am at the sacrifice of Our Lord and not a hillsong concert
