Hollywood movie promoting homosexuality. Movie insiders say crucial reason movie "Onward" has bombed is because of its openly gay character

The previews didn’t give any hints. I was very much looking forward to that one and concerns over being in crowds right now are the only reason I didn’t take the kids to it during this spring break that never ends. I had no idea there was any controversy.

Lately people are so reactionary I never know what is real. Remember everyone going nuts over how there was going to be a gay character in Beauty and the Beast? Then all that happened was he danced at the end.

“It shows that parents and grandparents are not on board with Hollywood’s LGBT indoctrination agenda”

Well, can’t speak for them but I’m certainly not on board. The indoctrination is diabolical.

  1. Reading the article, LifeSiteNews does not identify these “movie insiders”. How convenient.
  2. As @Irishmom2 said, a lot of people are avoiding crowds right now because of the coronavirus. Theaters are CLOSED in China because of the virus (they are the second largest moviegoing market after the USA).
  3. This is Pixar’s first movie to be released in March, which tends to be a slower box office month anyway. Usually they open in the summer, or in November.
  4. According to Steven D. Greydanus, a Catholic film reviewer (and a deacon), the LGBT content consists of one line of dialogue. He does say that the quality of the film overall is not up to par with some of Pixar’s biggest hits.

Reading Wikipedia about the film, that’s my understanding. If correct, the Title of this thread appears to be overreach?
Or wishful thinking about the impact of the “boycott”. The trailer didn’t look that interesting to me, regardless of any controversy.

I wasn’t even aware of this “controversy” and I wasn’t even aware the film had already come out. I saw a preview when we took the kids to Frozen 2 and it didn’t look good. I think LifeSite is full of it on pretty much everything they claim, which is sad, because they represent themselves as a prolife news site and they make all prolifers look like complete fools.

I saw a Disney movie once that promoted poisoning people with poisoned apples.

Also one that promoted piracy and murdering of children.

There was that one that promoted domestic abuse.

And creating soulless automatons contrary to the laws of God and men.

The movies were Snow White, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Pinocchio. Oh, and how Sleeping Beauty turned into a movie about sexually abusing sleeping women.

I kid, really. Because something depicted in a film does not equal promoting. There ARE gay people in this world. Depicting that truth is not promoting it. It is just making a film that reflects true life.

I haven’t seen the movie, and the only synopsis I’ve heard about it and didn’t mention it. So I guess they don’t want people to know.

Wow… I took my son to see this film on Saturday. I watched it with open eyes from start to finish. Not for one moment did I detect anything vaguely homosexual… must be a blink and you miss it thing? Definitely NOT a plot point… and if it’s there, not something my son noticed (and I sure didn’t). Makes me wonder how bad some of these movies really are…

Regarding performance, what the heck are they talking about? Of course ALL movies are being hit hard with the virus. The theatre we went to is blocking 50% of all seats to enforce social distancing.

A site I often used when my kids were young, rates it ok for over 12. Their review includes one female character’s brief reference to her girlfriend.

@twf, since you saw the movie, did you find anything objectionable about the wizardry in calling the dead father back to life (for specified one day)?

Not in particular. It was fairy tale / fantasy magic. And the characters were elves bringing their elvish dad back for a day… so different “ballgame”. There are no humans in the story.

When I complained about the stuff on a tv show, I was told to turn the station.
So apparently turning the station isn’t an option now?

I know your post is a total exaggeration, however, I wanted to point the following

The movie Snow White didn’t “promote” poisoning people with poisoned apples. The character is OBVIOUSLY the “bad guy.”

With all of the movies you quote (except Pinocchio), it’s really a matter of FIGHTING evil, not promoting it.

The problem with the LGBTQ agenda, is it is an attempt to make society ACCEPT evil, just like Hollywood has done with fornication & cohabitation. The only difference is that fornication & cohabitation are not really shown in children’s movies (thus far).

God Bless

When I was growing up it was common for women to refer to their female friends as girlfriends.

“Yesterday My husband Joe and I visited my girlfriend Sally and her husband George. We had coffee and cake.”

The Prince in Sleeping Beauty was the bad guy?

No, I am not exaggerating. Movies depict a LOT of things. That doesn’t mean that those things are being promoted. There are gay couples. Gay people. There always has been, there always will be. There is nothing to promote. It’s just depicting a realistic world.

The Hays Code didn’t stop cohabitation or fornication. Let’s not kid ourselves. It just made movies worse.

In the last 10 years have we seen a main character smoking?
Have we seen movies geared towards kids have anyone smoking at all?
