Hologram of Whitney Houston to tour

Trying to make money it seems to me. I am sure die hard W.H. fans will buy tickets, but it seems like a way for relatives and others to cash in on the ghost of Whitney. 🤷
 
It seems like an interesting idea. You could “bring back” a whole lot of people using holograms: JPII, Einstein, JFK, FDR, Churchill, etc. The person would not be brought back of course, only his enhanced, lifelike image.
 
It’s actually a very Buddhist-like idea: life being just an illusion and all.
 
I find it odd. I mean, I would have loved to have seen Lynyrd Skynyrd circa 1976, but I wouldn’t pay good money to see holograms of all the departed members (not even Ronnie).
 
As much as I loved her music I wouldn’t pay to see a hologram of her in concert.
 
Pat Houston is Whitney’s sister-in-law…not her sister. The article misses this fact. I have read various media articles that describe her as quite the opportunist. This seems to bolster that opinion.

I loved Whitney’s music and I always felt she had a God-given voice. I think this tour is not only over the top, but seems to exploit the memory of an icon. Too bad.

I was mostly serious. I mean he changed so many times how would anyone decide which version was the best one?

But I guess the majority of famous artists seem to be emotionally damaged. I guess I missed my calling.

Science fictions rules!
Almost thirty years ago Norman Spinrad wrote a book, Little Heroes, about a future where songs, lyrics and artists are all computer generated, based on demographics, focus groups to determine public taste &c. The hologram WH tour is the first step, next is a hologram tour of a hologram tour of someone who never existed.
 
I think if Michael Jackson were to perform in hologram it would be based on his planned “This is it” tour or would show several different versions of Michael depending on the song being played. I personally think it’s not a bad idea, Richard Burton appeared in the live version of Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds despite being dead for nearly 30 years. His voice is so distinctive that when they took it live they decided not to recast his role and instead have him appear via hologram. They treated Liam Neeson to the same holographic treatment when he took over the character in the rerecorded version.
 
Not really of the topic at hand, but about Whitney I will say… That I used to love her music video “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” in the 80’s, where she was dancing and hopping around in all the confetti, against the background of white. Does anyone else remember that?

I liked that one too!! a happy song. she was so young and fresh faced in that video. what a voice!
