The “Authorized” Version, also known as the King James Version of the Bible, is certainly doctrinally biased, however, aside from the fact that it is an incomplete Bible there is nothing exceptionally wrong with the translation. My personal advice is, if you are more familiar with the KJV, use it for personal reading, but when it comes to serious study where more precise translation is called for use the New Revised Standard Version (Catholic Edition).
Remember, the KJV is a product of the Church of England, and as such tends to emphasize their particular perspective. There are a few places where I personally believe the translation was intentionally manipulated against the Catholic Church, though the meaning remains close enough to the original as not to warrant too much suspicion.
