Holy card help

[sowerofseeds]

Children rcvd first communion at mass this past weekend. A parishoner gifted each with the “Little White Guest” holy Card. this parish is very diverse and the card offended many of the families that rcvd them. Can anyone give me some history or information on the card to help smooth things out?

When I made my first communion I recited a poem about ‘little white host’ Given the context I think the holy card is referring to nothing more offensive than the colour of the host itself.

Especially since the poem talks about holding Jesus close to one’s breast - one only does this when receiving Communion - and even then only in the hand!
