No: itHas anyone heard of them? And if you have, do you know their canonical standing? It would seem to me that they would be excommunicated, but I’m not sure.
s the first ive heard of its a breakaway group, so theres no way it could be in union with Rome. About 20% of the way down on the RHS, it says about praying “that the day will come when the Roman Catholic Church will assume us as a holiness rite into her own sacred body.”. Wishful thinking. On the website for the archdiocese of Gavelston-Houston, one of the parishes listed is called the Catholic Charismatic Center. I’ve never been there, but I assume that since the diocese acknowledges them, that they’re in full communion with the Catholic Church.I was oncew taken to a Catholic Charismatic Church once in Houston, I don’t know if that is the same or not. I was told by members there that is was indeed legit and part of the Catholic Church… although I don’t know if that is correct or not. Would love some confirmation as well.
Thanks!
“Catholic Charismatic Centre” would be referring to a place for (Roman) Catholics who are also Charismatics. On the website for the archdiocese of Gavelston-Houston, one of the parishes listed is called the Catholic Charismatic Center. On June 16, 2000, Pope John Paul II, issued a Pastoral Letter entitled “Dominus Jesus” which reads: “…The Churches which, while not in perfect communion with the (Roman) Catholic Church, remain united to her by means of the closest bonds, that is, by Apostolic Succession, and a valid Eucharist, are true particular Churches.”

Rather than making a claim of independence, we are a child of Holy Mother Church humbly seeking adoption in order to contribute to her all that we can.
It does look like majority of their members come from the Philippines, based on the photos. I don’t know if this originated in the Philippines (haven’t read much of their website yet). Many Filipinos are what you might term as uncatechised Catholics: they were baptized as Catholics but lack catechism. They easily fall into cults and quasi-Catholic groups like this. It’s my first time to hear that church. I can’t understand why they need to create a new church, in communion with the pope?
And I think they’re from the Philippines!!! I looked at their photos, and I recognized their faces and the environment.
PS: I think their “in communion with Rome” is a stunt to attract members. In the Philippines, majority of the Catholics are not aware of the different rites of the Church.
