How many Holidays of obligation are there really? Because here where I live we were taught that there are only 3 HDO
  • Dec 8 Immaculate Conception
  • Dec 25 The Nativity
  • Jan 1 Mary Mother of God
So I just wanted some clarification to how many are there really, And what are those days

The universal holy days of obligation in addition to Sundays for the Latin Rite are: Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Epiphany, the Ascension, the Body and Blood of Christ, Holy Mary the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception, her Assumption, Saint Joseph, Saint Peter and Saint Paul the Apostles, and All Saints.

Many bishops conferences have permission to observe fewer. Listen to what you have been told for your own country.

In addition to the universal holy days, particular holy days exist in various location such as St Partick in Ireland, Guadalupe in Mexico, etc.

The other Rites of the Church have different holy days than the Latin Church.

Even though the Church and dioceses have designated Holy Days of Obligation, if your mass attendance is out of obligation instead of desire, you’ve missed the point and possibly lost the battle!

Pax et bonum!

FInally someone supports me!!! And knows what I think without me even saying it!

Might be best if you feel it is such a burden for you.
Oh, it’s no burden.
