My girlfriend and I paid a visit to a shrine outside of Omaha today. It was a really pretty place.

Did anyone else ever visit it?

I also have to say I think some of my prayers are starting to get answered. She’s a Lutheran and visiting this shrine today was her idea! She also made a positive comment about the Rosary while we were there, so I gave her a very simple explanation of the prayer and promised to go into depth about it next time we talk about religion. It’s still a bit of a sticky topic, but lately she’s been REALLY open to discussion about it. In fact she now thinks it kind of neat (as opposed to weird) that I go to Mass during the week.

I have been there several times. It is truly a beautiful and peaceful place. Have you attended a Mass there?

No, but I did have a question about Mass there. They have a card at the door saying that Mass at the shrine will NOT count as Sunday obligation. Why is that? Is Mass there not complete?
 
The shrine is very nice.

The reason the Mass celebrated there each Saturday at 10 am or noon(I believe) does not fulfill one’s obligation is because it is not a vigil Mass due to the time of day.
