My son and I will be attending the US Open Golf Championship next Saturday.

There is a beautiful shrine near the property. Any idea if they would have extended hours and mass with the possibility of many visitors that evening?

I was there last month and had a short conversation with one of the Carmelite monks. They are aware of the tournament and hoping that it will lead to many visits to this wonderful Church (which does have a website.)

The cafeteria is great and open during the day. And there is the tower to climb also.

If you’re in the area, I hope that you get a chance to go and visit, fastenatingguy. 🙂

Thanks! I should have mentioned that I visited the website–but found nothing for this Saturday on their events page.

A friend told me that he saw somewhere that they would celebrate mass at 7:30PM Saturday evening. I plan to visit but it’s complicated when the parking lots are 20 miles away.

Hello again,

I personally would not want to make any assumptions about how they will handle the parking. 🙂

I have been there several times and can tell you from my own experiences that parking can get to be a bit tight, just during regular times.

I’m not sure how they handle it when there’s an outside event going on, though, like this, where they would probably expect additional visitors.
