Today, the first Friday of the month, I went to Mass and then spent a Holy Hour with the Lord in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Since this is the spirituality forum, I expect many of you have done it before repeatedly. It has not been a regular practice for me, but after today, I intend to make that Hour a priority.

There were no miraculous signs, or even a discernable word coming from the Lord. But, I felt Him, deep down into my soul, I could feel His presence in that chapel. I feel so richly blessed to have had that kind of communion with the Lord that I just have to share it. I’ll be the first to admit I have been going through a long period of spiritual dryness. For the longest time, I have felt like I was being attacked and could not feel any relief coming my way from the Lord. But, today, I felt quenched by His Living Water. It was awesome in every way and I just want to thank Him and praise Him and glorify Him forever.

If anyone out there has been “under attack”, I highly recommend the Holy Hour.

Mt 11:29 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. :amen:

Congrats for finding such an aswesome thing! I try to go as often as possible, we’re blessed to have perpetual adoration here.

Some days I still feel rather “dry” even in front of the Sacrament. Other days I can feel the Lord’s presence in the chapel. It’s the one single thing that’s had the biggest impact on my spiritual growth. I’d suggest it for everyone.
 
I have been doing one hour Eucharist Adoration since Lent 2006. I go everyday after work except lately. When it is so cold and dark outside, sometimes I feel afraid to be the only one in the large church campus. But with Lent coming again, I have to re-stick to my daily routine, not skipping any day.

Daily one hour Eucharist Adoration definitely made difference in my spiritual life, significant difference. 🙂
 
My particular parish is on the smallish side, though it is growing quickly. Consequently, we only have Adoration on the first Friday. However, a Church not too far from me has a perpetual adoration chapel. I used to stop in there, even just for 15 minutes. Just to pray and praise and basically let the Lord know I’m thinking about him (as if He doesn’t already know 🙂 ) However, I have to say that the length of time I spent today really made a difference. You know what else I just thought of. I made a point to say my prayers for personal intentions before the Mass. So then at the Holy Hour, I was able to concentrate solely on Him- in praise, thanksgiving and reparation.

I find myself “talking to Jesus” throughout the day, about all things, large or small. I try to bring Him into all parts of my day. But, you know, it is so easy to get wrapped up in your own concerns and I find myself not taking as much time to meditate on His Passion or on the Gift of Salvation. So, that is what made today especially awesome!

Your post inspires me. I need to attend daily Mass during my lunch break at work. I’ve figured out the time that even after attending Mass, I still have 30 min to eat lunch and get back to work by using my two 15 min breaks.

The church is about 100 yards from where I work ! Now, as I type this post, I’ve realized how God has heard my prayer back 1 1/2 year ago asking for having a job and have opportunity to get closer to Him. I would be a fool not to attend mass daily if God has provide me a job where the office and the church are on the same block. 🙂
 
Definitely some pushing from the Holy Spirit going on there 😃

I do go to mass most every day, and I try to spend at least 15 or 20 minutes beforehand or after each day with the Blessed Sacrament. Sometimes it can be difficult, depending on which church and which Mass I go to. If it’s the last of the day they really like to bundle everyone out quick smart and lock up. If it’s the first of the day they sometimes don’t open up early.

In the meantime may I suggest savior.org for those who can’t make it to Adoration - it’s a real-time webcam feed from a permanent adoration chapel. Next best thing to being there 🙂

You are very blessed to have your prayer answered as such!
You are so fortunate to have the opportunity of attending Mass everyday!! I can only hope to do so after I retire, that is a long way to go.

However, starting this year, I requested and got approved from my working place that I work longer hours Monday through Thursday so I can attend 9:00 am Mass and report to work at 10:00 on Friday. Though I cannot attend Mass everyday except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it is pretty good at this point. Plus Thursday evening is always exposed Eucharist Adoration!
I thank and praise God for this!

Yeah, my workplace allows me flexible schedule. I can always make up the hour missing within the same week. I normally come in around 9:30am or 10:00am. A month ago, I went to daily mass in the morning before going to work, but I had problem getting up early in the morning.

Recently, I just found out the Cathedral around the block where I work. 🙂

That Cathedral is beautiful!! It is always good to have a magnificent builing to worship in, because our Lord is there and He deserves to be glorified in a splendid environment.🙂

Yes, and I wish the Church would be in a place where there is no tall building surrounding it - the tall buildings has been trimmed out from the image of the church 😃
