Is mass on both Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday mandatory? Or does going on Saturday count as Sunday Easter mass?
Thank you!
Thank you!
I think that some people think that because the Easter Vigil is a different liturgy than the actual Easter Sunday Mass, it might be required to attend both instead of either one. This question appears on here every year. What leads you to think that it is mandatory to attend both the Easter Vigil and on Easter Sunday? Where are you getting this information?
The Eucharist is distributed to the faithful on Good Friday, too; however, there is no consecration at the Good Friday liturgy.Correct me if I’m wrong, but traditionally, the eucharist is taken to a place of repose after Holy Thursday and is not distributed again until Easter, so if you attend a Mass on holy Saturday where the Euchrist is celebrated, you can be sure that it will count for Easter.
The Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday) fulfills the obligation of attending Mass on Easter Sunday. Is mass on both Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday mandatory? Or does going on Saturday count as Sunday Easter mass?
