Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How silent this day is! Both liturgically and interiorly, we are still. There is yet no “physical” Jesus for us – until the Vigil Mass or Easter Sunday when we can receive Him again in Holy Communion.

What was it like for Mary our Mother on the first Holy Saturday, when the physical body of Jesus rested in the tomb? From the moment she was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and Jesus was physically present in her womb, through the years after His birth until His death on Calvary, Mary had watched Him and cared for Him, listening to Him, and keeping ALL in her heart. She heard His baby cries, His every word until His last agonizing cry from the Cross. On this day, however, how silent everything was then, and is for us.

By God’s Grace, let us spend this day in special union with our Mother. Let us, like her, keep His Word in our hearts and find Him within us. Let us listen carefully, with the ears of our hearts, to the Holy Spirit – as Mary did. Let us do the truth we hear, as we wait for Jesus to come again!

Thank you Maria,as always s a beautiful reflection! A Blessed Easter to you and yours🙏

Dear Jeanne S, and Eric,

Thanks for your replies. In this morning’s Liturgy of the Hours, there was a petition which touched me especially, and I share it for all who may also be touched and inclined to pray these words today, on this Holy Saturday:
Christ, the Good Shepherd, in death, You lay hidden from the world
– teach usto love a life hidden with you in the Father.
It has been a quiet morning for me, and I hope you and many others are experiencing a similar quiet and stillness of soul with Mary, awaiting a Glorious Easter!
