Is it a day of penance, as the Fridays of Lent are, or not?

The Triduum are days of penance and fasting. That ends with the Easter Vigil, tonight!

Oh well.
Prayer and reflection, of course, that I would think.
Penance and fasting per se, I didn’t know.
That is, I ate normally on Thursday as well as today. I didn’t do my usual Friday penance either (no dressing or sauces; meat I don’t eat anyway). I did go to the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Thursday, I had a very reflective day yesterday, and I am planning to go to the Easter Vigil tonight (in about two hours). I hope I didn’t sin.

From another thread:
However as the document from the Holy See on Devotions notes:
  1. “On Holy Saturday, the Church pauses at the Lord’s tomb, meditating his Passion and Death, his descent into Hell, and, with prayer and fasting, awaits his resurrection”(151).
and

the USCCB website says :

"If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the “paschal fast” to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.’

This however is NOT an obligation (I confirmed my understanding of this with Jimmy Akin)

“Nevertheless, let the paschal fast be kept sacred. Let it be celebrated everywhere on Good Friday and, where possible, prolonged throughout Holy Saturday, so that the joys of the Sunday of the resurrection may be attained with uplifted and clear mind.” (Vatican II, Sacrosanctum Concilium 110)
