To be fair I don’t the Archbishop is soft on abortion at all, so it’s not an either/or proposition. The UN should stop endorsing abortion, AND they should help to see that weapons don’t get sold cheap to any rogue nation that comes down the pipe. Why don’t they urge the UN to stop promoting the murder of unborn children?
Why focus on matters of prudential judgement instead of those intrinsic evils that are being promoted?
Really? So he’s urged the UN to stop promoting abortion? I hadn’t heard about that, I have only heard about urging on matters of prudential judgement. To be fair I don’t the Archbishop is soft on abortion at all, so it’s not an either/or proposition. .
I believe when the UN was getting on the Chruch’s case about homosexuality, abortion, (i.e., the usual stuff), Tomasi shot back.Really? So he’s urged the UN to stop promoting abortion? I hadn’t heard about that, I have only heard about urging on matters of prudential judgement.
The point is, it is a matter of prudential judgement, abortion and euthanasia are intrinsic evils that are non-negotiable. Matters of prudential judgment are for the duly designated authorities to decide upon. Taking the popular position in areas of prudential judgment may be a way to garner accolades because they are popular, but the promotion those intrinsic evils is growing and that is what needs to be addressed above all and first of all.I believe when the UN was getting on the Chruch’s case about homosexuality, abortion, (i.e., the usual stuff), Tomasi shot back.
The point is, there is no good reason to think he is soft on these issues.
