Holy Spirit leads only the CC?

It’s Christmas Eve, here. I woke up to a beautiful world this morning; we had ice fog overnight, so every tree, bush, weed, and fence had a lovely white coating.

Contemplating this question, I thought for some reason of the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz. From that, I came up with a cartoony idea. I don’t mean funny, but as a simple picture of a complicated reality.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 40:3-5 (KJV)
(NOTE: *Please… *I know the following may sound less than humble. As a Catholic I’m *not *better than anyone who is not. Far from it, I know way too many Non-C Christians who make me look like a piker!

I’m thinking of the Holy Spirit as this “highway for God” laid out for every one on Earth. He is our “yellow brick road” leading to Heaven.

Some see this road better than others. We Catholics have the fulness of Christ’s truth. If we study our faith, and follow her precepts, we have a pretty clear road to follow. (Not that it’s an easy road…)

The further a given church’s (or a given Pastor’s) teachings stray from this truth, the less well the members see the road. (This also applies to dissident Catholics - including priests!)

Non-Christians can still see some parts of the road. For some, what they see is as small as the crumbs Hansel and Gretel dropped to mark their path through the dark forest. But if they feel and do charity for others, and occasionally have the urge to thank something outside of themselves for the good things in the world, then they’re on the road.

The Star is high over Belthlehem! Let us rejoice!

+JMJ+ pray for us!

Why would He not use all Christian traditions, regardless of the human errors in any or all of them?

As a Lutheran, I can see the work of the Holy Spirit in the CC, the Orthodox and many protestant groups, as well as my Lutheran Church.

I agree with you.

Isn’t it wonderful that Protestants and Catholics have a place to communicate without burning down each other’s churches? The Holy Spirit is certainly in “our” midst when we dialogue and respect each other with love as we search for the Truth.🙂

Merry Christmas everybody!:christmastree1:
