Holy Spirit Novena for Pentecost (coming up!)

Dear Tis_Bearself,

I’m starting mine today, since yesterday was Ascension Thursday (40 days after Easter). There are actually two Novenas on EWTN - Novena to the Holy Spirit HERE and another Novena to the Holy Spirit for the Seven Gifts (which is the link Limoncello gave in his post) both are beautiful and I believe both are designed to begin today and end on the vigil of the Feast i.e. Saturday before Pentecost.

Both Novenas are beautiful and could be prayed any time, it seems to me. The nine days between the day Jesus ascended and the day the Holy Spirit descended on the Disciples is probably considered by many to be the “first novena”. Since Mary and the first disciples returned to Jerusalem as Jesus had told them to do:
…to wait for “the promise of the Father
about which you have heard me speak;
for John baptized with water,
but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Act 1: 1-11)

Thank you MariaChristi. I will pray the one Limoncello posted so we are all on the same page.

it will overlap with my novena to the Immaculate Conception that I am doing as an “extra” gift to Mary for her month of May, but only by 2 days as I started the Mary one 7 days ago, so I won’t get too confused (hopefully).
 
if you have the laudate app, the 7 gifts novena is on it. i believe the app is free
 
Finished up this morning. I think this is the first year I have a decent appreciation of the Holy Spirit.
