This thread was inspired by a current thread in the Liturgy Forum, but I thought it might be a more appropriate topic for this forum.
Why is “Holy Ghost” the preferred translation of “Spiritu Sancto” among many traditionalists? As far as I can tell, either translation is accurate, but “ghost” has connotations in current English that “spirit” does not have. Am I missing something?
