I don’t think I can provide such a reference (don’t know if one exists) but common sense and good liturgical practice would say that yes, “private chapels” should have the tabernacles empty before Holy Saturday. This assumes of course that such private chapels have the bishop’s permission to house the Blessed Sacrament in the first place.
The liturgical norms of the Triduum assume that everything is happening in a parish Church where the entire Holy Week liturgies are being celebrated. Occasionally some common sense accomodations have to be made if a particular place is not celebrating one or more of those liturgies.
The parish where I go for adoration has a completely separate chapel building from the main Church where the Eucharist resides, exposed, for adoration 24/7. During this time however the Eucharist is removed, even though there are never liturgies there.
