Hi y’all,

First question, is it ok to use a regular water bottle to fill up with holy water from Church? Or should I really use a “holy water” water bottle? I have misplaced those bottles and want to stock up when at adoration tomorrow.

Second, I don’t think my parish priest uses blessed salt in his Holy Water, would it be okay if I put a pinch of blessed salt in my holy water myself or would that not be permitted?

Yes, it is okay to use a regular water bottle. Make sure you label it as holy water; you might get it mixed up with your ordinary water.

Yes, you can add exorcised salt to your holy water.

Our parish ran out of holy water bottles one week when I was supposed to pick some up, so they substituted some unused/unlabeled medication bottles from the local pharmacy. 😃

My mother loved those Crown Royal bottles shaped like a giant crown.
A cousin used to save them for her because she liked putting Holy Water for our bedrooms in them, to remind us that Christ is King. Kind of funny and endearing…😉
the bottle has no impact on the contents, Be at peace.

Just don’t drink from the “regular water bottle” once it’s filled with holy water! 😉
