I’m talking about bacteria. A study a few years ago found many strains of Streptococcus.

do you have to ask the priest for Holy water when its sitting out in those bowls or is it just free to take? and what other thing could i put it in besides a specific holy water holder?
I think some parishes have a font where it is for anyone to fill in their HW bottles. If not sure, ask the parish office.

I think any small bottle with a small spout. But sometimes, if not labeled, somebody could mistakenly throw it, mis-use it and what not. So the specifi HW bottle would be nice, it is labeled already and made for it.

I use a 1 oz micro bottle from the camping store and carry it in my laptop bag along with my rosary wherever I go. My daughter has a 4 oz bottle shaped like Mary which I think cost three or four dollars at the Church gift shop. Any Church gift shop should have bottles with a cross on it or similar for a buck or two.

I don’t think there is a restriction as to what you can put it in.

Our Church has a font at the entrance to the Church and a five gallon stainless dispenser in the narthex. Everyone just grabs as much as they want. Lately I’ve been sprinkling it on my car. 186,250 miles and counting…

Most parishes I go to have big dispensers to fill bottles up with.
I go to a fairly large parish, but I’ve never seen a dispensary in any of the parishes in my town except the church that was built in the 1800’s. We do have a rather large baptistry right when you walk into the sanctuary, but I’m always self conscious about people looking at me funny if I walk into church with an empty milk jug to fill with holy water.

I personally wouldn’t use any holy water to drink or put into food if it’s been in a font. theres been some nasty stuff found in fonts.
Thats not how we would obtain Holy Water that we would consume 😉
