I attended a funeral mass for a Sister of Mercy…the meeting house had a “fountain” embedded in the floor as you entered the meeting room…the water overflowed the large container onto a grate on the floor and pumped back up through the center of the “bowl”…those who passed it on the way to be seated dipped their fingers into it and “crossed” themselves…I assumed it “doubled” as baptistry and holy water vessel…there were no small containers on the wall as one entered the front door…so I assumed this was “it”.
I did see a few people filling small blue bottles from it after the mass.
