Your thoughts, everyone?
You have no control over anyone else’s behavior – except your own.Your thoughts, everyone?
Egads. It was just a question for discussion. There was nothing at all judgmental in it.Watch that splinter in your own eye![]()
My thoughts: If you gave up the beach or clubbing for Lent, you should continue that into the Triduum.Your thoughts, everyone?
Did you not notice the smiley face at the end of my comment??? It was an attempt at humor – obviously misplaced.Egads. It was just a question for discussion. There was nothing at all judgmental in it.
I pretty much cut out all extraneous activity for Holy Week. Word and liturgy are quite enough for me to survive.
In my univ. years, I had a professor who scheduled an exam for Good Friday. My CEO agrees with you but in a different way. He thinks it’s a good week for my department to hit the cubicles instead.![]()
Poor kidThis year has been a good lesson for my son. His annual Blue and Gold banquet (scouting) was last Saturday and we had to forgo that for the Passion vigil. His annual TaeKwonDo school tournament is on Holy Saturday and that too will have to be missed. So the two big events of his only two extracurricular activities gets axed this year.![]()
None of those are holy days of obligation. If you can make it, wonderful, but I wouldn’t want to prevent my child from going to other very important celebrations and tournaments that he has worked all year to attend for these services. Balance is also good, as is recognizing the effort a child puts into activities that are important to him. This year has been a good lesson for my son. Ha, my daughter’s TaeKwonDo school scheduled testing one year on Good Friday and the instructor (Master, correct? Its been a few years) couldn’t understand why so many of us parents made a fuss and asked him to reschedule the testing. Which he did, thank God.This year has been a good lesson for my son.
