Can someone provide a resource (web site or book, I don’t care which) that explains what the Holy Week liturgy was like before the revisions of Pope Pius XII and what they were after it?

Did the revisions look anything like the Ordinary Form’s Holy Week liturgy?

Some things in this thread (posts 8 and 10) may be helpful to you.

And of course, going an comparing it directly here would be best I think and enable you to see the differences clearly

Do you have a 1962 missal? If you don’t I can send you the liturgies that are incomplete in the link above, if you pm me your email address.

As to how they compare with the Ordinary form liturgies- certainly they are quite close in some ways - almost like a transition between the two- but the Ordinary form also goes further. For example, for Palm Sunday the multiple ways of carrying out the procession. And of course, certain texts are different as well. And myriad small things- like all the Passion Gospels (which were abbreviated in 1956) are no longer read in Holy Week- rather Matthew, Mark and Luke and rotated and read on Palm Sunday and John read invariably on Good Friday.
