Both of those Relics would be very hard, if not impossible, to obtain. As St. Patrick is a very ancient Saint, I doubt Relics have been distributed for centuries, if they ever were. as to St. Francis, the Franciscans hold his Relics in great honor and veneration, I do not think they ever distribute them anymore. I have been tryiing for a very long time to get one and have still not succeded.
Thank you very much for the info! 🙂

Not even 3rd-class relics (cloths or medals that have been touched to their bones)? Or even 4th-class relics?

I am pretty sure that 3rd class relics of St. Francis are available, you should contact the franciscan province you are located in.

I have Just obtained a 1st Class Relic of St. Sylvester for my oratory!

I just set this up lastnight 🙂

I have that same crucifix.

Nice.
Yea, it’s one of the best I’ve come across. Only thing is that his hands and feet aren’t actually attatched to the cross, only part that is attatched to the cross is his body and you can actually spin Jesus around.

Very nice.👍 Do you have a devotion to Saint Joseph?
Thanks!

Yes I do. I am going to get Confirmed at the end of the month and I have decided to choose him as my Patron Saint because I am going to be married later this year and I need to “grow up” as many would say and learn to be a good husband, father, and worker…also, my name is Joseph, but that’s not exactly a reason. 🙂

I realize this thread is rather old, but here is a picture of my homemade altar:
CarmeliteGirl - you gave me a great idea!!! I’ve been wanting to put together some sort of home altar in front of my prie-dieu. Problem is, I have two kitties who would be walking all over it. Putting it on a shelf would be perfect!!! They would not jump on a shelf, they are not THAT brave. 😉

Thanks!!!

They are not so much altars as shrines, I guess. The point being that they are sacramentals and are used to remind the user of Christ and the mass and the devotion of the saints.

As for me, I have one in the quiet corner of my room with an old goblet of my grandmothers set up sort of like a chalice, with a crucifix and two candles and some statues of saints that I got after my grandparents passed away. The cup is used only as a reminder of the mass and Christs sacrifice for me.

I really do enjoy hearing that so many other Catholics have similar venues and that Im not as out there as I used to think.

I am in the process of putting my home altar together and I have just realised that I have a 2nd class relic of St Bernadette 😃 It was sent to me years ago and I have only just remembered!

We have a home altar in our den/living room, and each person has their own little devotional area in their rooms as well. I thought I had pictures already, but I will have to take more later and will try to post them.

Today through the post I received a relic of St Therese of the Child Jesus :D:D I am so happy to receive this and it arrived on my late Fathers birthday!
