wow looking good. I remember the day this thread was started.

God Bless.
ahhhh. those were the days! šŸ˜›
you can see how my home alter ā€œevolvedā€ since the begining thanks to all of your good ideas!!!

Hold on… Think I got it:

The Holy Face and Crucifix are the main icons in the shrine, and there are candles, holy water, a soapstone censer, a box with holy medals (underneath linen) holy earth from the temple mount, holy water from the Jordan, an old Greek New Testament Book, and incense. And some of my favourite sacred items, including a miniature Jewish Torah, a kabballistic medal, and a nazr.

that is beautiful! I want to get an Ecce Homo bust for my bedroom. I want to put it all by itself so that I can focus and meditate on the sufferings of Christ.

Yeah, that silver bowl surrounded by flowers below the image of Christ has holy water in it, which I use every morning before I start the day. It’s ontop the linen under which is the box of sacramentals I’ve collected.

This is the funerary crucifix above the shrine. It was a crucifix that was originally affixed to a coffin of a Catholic that has passed on. The corpus was originally the same dark colour as the cross, but I painted it gold to make it stand out.

Here’s ours šŸ™‚ Theres the painting of the Holy Family, a photo of my Patron Saint, St. Therese of Liseux, a bottle of holy water from Lourdes, and a rosary with earth from Fatima. Just put in fresh votives! šŸ™‚

Don’t know if this has been said but…

😃

Awesome thread btw. šŸ‘

Oh, everything’s sooooo beautiful.
Oh, do you really like 'em? I’m currently a member of the Anglican Church but soon will probably join the Catholic Church. I live with my Protestant Baptist grandmother. She does not mind Catholic devotional periphenalia at all. She let me put a crucifix in every room (except hers, in which she has the ten commandments on the wall beside her bed) and a Last Supper picture in the kitchen-diningroom. She let me put an image of the Sacred Heart in eyesight as soon as you enter the house.

She even attended by Confirmation in the Anglican Church.

i live in a very small apt(400sq ft). i wanted a prayer area to help me focus more of my time and energy on the Lord. So i took my TV stand/cupboard, i took the doors off and stapled fabric and lace to the backside. then added the things that are special to me. so two pics to show you can have a home alter in just about any space. it is nice this place is so small, i can see and take a breather from computer work and go sit with the Lord or just spend a few moments at my desk in silence. it is a good reminder on where i should keep my focus.
