I’ve since updated mine a little bit…after Christmas and all, plus I moved rooms as well. You can see it here.

(Its far easier to just link to it than to try to upload it here and get all kinds of hassle.)

Also, Matariel, I quoted you because I wanted to know where you get your “pre-Vatican II German Catholic” style art. I’m a huge fan of that look, yet… haven’t really… been in the part of able-to-purchase. Hints or tips on where to look? 😃

Thank you all!
Okay, here’s one link:

And they aren’t even that expensive!

I already have the Die Heilige Dreifaltigkeit (The Holy Trinity) print and then I framed it myself when I got it-- and it’s awesome. If you do some looking in the Religion & Spirituality Section of Art.com you can find even more in that same beloved Pre-Vatican II German Catholic style. They even have *Adam and Eve *print in the same style, which I’m tempted to buy just because I like eclectic and less-know Catholic devotional images:

Another good German-style one, it’s called Rettung (Salvation) is a symbolic devotional image of salvation:

And another good one: 🙂

It is from Saint Camillus’ life and vision that we get the symbol of the Red Cross (or, the Medical Cross) today.

And yet another good German-style one, the well-beloved Ecce Homo:

By the way, BayernAnhänger, I love Bayern. I was born in Germany, although it was Northeastern Germany.

(Also, here’s a tip for finding German-style Catholic imagery on Art.com: type the word “heilige” (holy or* saint*) into the searchbox in the corner and a whole slew of old German-style Catholic devotional images will come up.)

And also, probably within a couple days I am going to post my favourite and very special devotional item-- a handcarved two-foot tall wooden crucifix from Mumbai, India, that I got when I was doing relief work there after the tsunami struck. And I just finished hand-painting it! It will be an heirloom for my children or my sister’s children when I get old and hopefully it will pass from generation to generation forever in my family.

Can’t wait to post it. I’ve also enshrined it with flowers and candles and put the holy water and holy soil from Jerusalem by it, along with the rosary. to tell you the truth, I haven’t even gotten it blessed but I’m happy because now I can get it all blessed (including the new paintjob) together.

It looks very nice. My mother (who died 15 years ago this month) set up our home altar. We have a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, a statue of the Sacred Heart, a picture of Our Lady of Schoenstat and a Pieta. I have added a picture of Blessed Miguel Pro and the Infant of Prague.

In our living room, we have a huge portrait of the Sacred Heart. An elderly friend of our family’s encouraged us to have the image of the Sacred Heart in our living room. This my mom did as soon as possible and it has been in our living room for about 32 years.

Danke! 😉

I’m currently studying in Baden-Wuerttemberg, so I’m keeping mah eyes peeled!

If most of my stuff is already blest, can I get a priest to bless the whole setup? I am done with buying my statues and art. now all I am buying is Holy Cards and you will see why later as soon as i get a picture.

yes i do!!!
i also want to hang some shelves on eaither side to put stuff
Sweeet.

If you have any home tools/ability to work with your hands, you could make your own shelves, and carve/paint/draw images or icons or letters (IHS/IHM/SHJ?) into them.

Those are all so beautiful! Ill try to post pictures of mine later. Well, I actually have stuff all over the place haha. But I have Holy Cards, Holy Water, and a Crucifix on the headboard of my bed. My camera takes horrible pictures, (or maybe its just me haha), but Ill shall try to post later. Those are all wonderful though!!! I hope to be able to put something together thats a bit nicer like all of yours!

This is the outdoor shrine that I made just recently.

My altar is near my bed, it is on a small chest of drawers and at the moment it comprises of a large statue of Our Lady of grace and on one side is a picture of St Bernadette and on the other side is a picture of Our Lord. I have two candle holders and a brass incense holder.

It is a work in progress:)
