The Sacred Heart Statue is 26" tall. I bought it off of eBay and it was severely damaged in shipment, broken in numerous pieces. It is hollow plaster. But it had such beautiful detail that I just couldn’t throw it away. So I began glueing it back together and reinforcing it with plaster on the inside and filling in places on the outside. My intent was to repaint it and resell it. But I have decided to keep it.

! I finally did iron the cover today and while I’m no good at ironing, it does look a little better, haha. Eventually I’m probably going to have some covers made to match the colors used during the church seasons.
 
I am adding more to my altar, but I need stained Glass windows to add!

Does anyone know a good place (online) to buy those glass things that hangs in the window?

I don’t have much room or money, but I am pretty happy with what I have been able to accomplish in a short time. It is all in my office.

This is the main shrine/alter
And this is a chalk drawing of an “Angel” that I posed for in 1987

This weekend I found the statue of St. Francis on the main shelf of the shrine.
I found the 2 angels at Ace Hardware !
 
This is an embroidered piece my maternal grandmother made for me when I was born… 57+ years ago and below is San Damiano Cross

This is my spiritual reading shelves with a Celtic and San Damino Cross above it, this is on my desk, which sits next to the main shrine/alter

For now I have a little folding table and a homemade book holder for when I read my bible as the table is too low. Eventually I’d like to find (or make) a table tall enough for me to use comfortably when I’m sitting and when I’m kneeling to use for support.

I absolutely love the angels, and how one is up, and one is down. I LOVE the statues!
It is beautiful!

This is the statue we just got our Godson for his first communion. He wants it in his room. the parents would like it on the home altar. He will probably decide to share it with them.

Does that have a little drawer in it with a prayer scroll?
 
Here is the most recent version of mine, its about done, I’m just planning on replacing the framed icon prints with wood mounted icons…the framed ones always have a glare on the glass, and frankly it can be a bit distracting.
 
I’ve done a little remodeling. 😉 Having a dedicated prayer corner makes such a difference when I’m praying, it is much less distracting and really helps to set the mood. If anyone reading this hasn’t put one together…do it!!!

Yup. I saw it on one of the pictures in this thread (I think it was on this thread) and really liked it. Once I had it in my hands I could see why it’s often recommended, it’s a bit more gruesome than most other crucifixes, but serves as a powerful reminder of the suffering Christ endured.
 
Here are some pictures of my altar. The picture with the red wall shows it in the house we were in. I built this part when I was in high school. This was our house. historichardinghouse.homestead.com We dedicated a whole room as a chapel. There was a closet in the room in which I installed ropes. Up the stairs to the attic and there were the bells. They rang out through an attic vent. I would ring the Angelus. There were 2 bells and I have a toller there for awhile on one of them. We moved to an apartment. The bells went into storage. I started to add a real mensa and gradines to the altar and set a stone in it. I got it nearly done, but took it down due to inappropriate premarital activities in the apartment directly over the altar. So, now it is in storage as well.
