Having recently become a catholic myself (Baptized on Holy Saturday), I’ve been busily building myself a home altar/shrine where I can turn my mind prayerfully towards God. Some items thay I am using were gifted to me, others were bought by myself. All have been blessed by a priest and hold a honoured space in my home.

On my altar/shrine I have images of:

-Our Lord of the Miracles (Peru)
  • Our Lady of Guadalupe
  • Saint Rose of Lima
I also have on it:
  • a small glass bottle of Holy Water
  • and a blessed beeswax candle
On the nightstand beside my bed I also have a framed picture of the sacred/immaculate hearts of Jesus and Mary and a crucifix.

I wish that I could post a photo of my home altar but I don’t seem to have that privilege yet on this forum. As soon as I do I will upload an image…

Blessings

Daniel

I will be selling some of my prie dieu’s on ebay in order to build the one of my dreams. Note I have never had them blessed just in case, but they have seen there share of prayers:) I posted them on here years ago. Let me apologize in advance for so many people who emailed me about them. I was on my death bed and was traveling all over the country for my health. I apologize to all who contacted me about them, but my health did not permit. I stumbled across this thread, and thought I would post again before my next surgery at the end of this month. If anyone is interested feel free to p.m. me.

Prayers offered. :signofcross:

You sound like me. If you ever want to talk please feel free. I’ve been coping for 5 years and spent a great deal of time at both Mayo clinics. Thirty-three days in pain rehab at St. Mary’s in Mn. Maybe I can offer you some support and wisdom and vice versa. Not to get off topic but I just wanted to reach out. Maybe this is part of our purgatory?🙂 God Bless you and we will pray for you nightly during the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

What are your prices on the prie dieus?

The kneeler on the left is the finest prie dieu i’ve seen. All hand carved from 18th-19th century, and imported from Belgium. It was covered in blue vinyl, but now is back to its original glory.

The one on the right is also a Marian theme concept I came up with, and is gothic. Made of white oak.
