Oh, foo… I thought the thread was “What’s your favorite white or off-white PLANT?”

I was going to respond with Calla Lilies.
“Calla Lilly” sounds like it could be the name of a white paint. But I love white and off-white plants too–roses are my favorite. :flowers:

Thank you everyone for your replies. The pictures shared–and the names–are very pretty. I saw the photos and links that many of you linked first from my phone and then again my computer–but they look different from one screen to the next. And that’s just one reason why picking a white-ish paint is so difficult!

It’s almost spring and it’s time to freshen up the house a bit. I want to paint a couple of rooms.

We have white trim through the entire house. Literally every single room and I’m dying to paint it because it’s way too “white”.

I just don’t have the time. The trim doesn’t look too bad in our living room because of the beige wall color and the big windows we have…our house faces west in the front and east in the back…so, lots and lots of sunlight. The combination of the two warms up the starkness of the white trim and makes it look really nice.

But our room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the kid’s rooms look awful…I have no idea what the previous owners were thinking. The kitchen is completely white…everything from the walls to the cabinets to the trim. We are re-doing that kitchen so that will change quickly.

The previous owners used cool colors…blue and a blue/green color in my kid’s and our room. The trim is really, really white and not in a good way. I can’t wait to change it.

The worst room is the bathroom. It looks like the Tom Petty music video for “Don’t Come Around Here”.
If you haven’t seen it…it’s black and white tiles with white walls and white vanity. Then there are the gold fixtures…
It’s the ugliest room I’ve ever seen.

Thanks for sharing that perspective and reminding me not to go
“too white”. Our house was an off-white when we moved in, and it was very bright in rooms that got sun. Over the years, we’ve painted. The same paint that looks great in a room that gets sun, really made a north-facing room look dark. That’s the room I now want to now paint some shade of white in time for Easter.
