Yesterday I had to work in a town about 40 minutes from my home. I saw on the highway a homeless man walking with a wagon. I did my work and was driving home and there he was again… about 6 miles down the road. It bothered me all night. Its FREEZING here.

Today I had to go south of where I live and there he was again… pushing his cart on the highway. The man, in his 70’s had walked about 30 miles.

I came home from work and purposely went down the same highway and there he was again.

My son and I loaded up a bag of anything we could think of he could use and bought him a hot dinner. I had a St Anthony card in my purse and gave it to him (patron Saint of the the lost) We dropped it off to him and he told us ‘God bless you’.

Its 26 degrees here tonight. , Please say a prayer for this man.

A prayer to St. Elizabeth of Hungary, patron of the homeless
Almighty God, by whose grace your servant Elizabeth of Hungary recognized and honored Jesus in the poor of this world:
Grant that we, following her example, may with love and gladness serve those in any need or trouble. In the name and for the sake of and through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

I applaud your charity. That is true Christian behavior. This man will be in my prayers tonight.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

St. Margaret of Cortona, who were homeless yourself as a young woman, pray for this man.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

God bless you. God bless you and your brother, for caring for this man, for caring for Jesus in this way. May God bless you and your family abundantly and forever.

I praise and thank You our God, that Your love has been shared in practical kindness to this impoverished and homeless man.

Bless you for showing this man the kindness of God. He probably truly saw the beauty of Christ through you!

Thank you.

I wish I could have done more. Hopefully he knows Jesus loves him.

If anyone is in Indianapolis, he walked from Kokomo to 96th and Meridian (he was there last night). He is following 31 south… he is pushing a wagon and has a white santa beard.

I am joining you in prayer for this person.

Sincerely,

Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick, and all who have none to care for them. Help us to heal those who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
