Homeless woman found beaten to death several blocks from my school

The head of security of my university just sent us an email alerting us that a woman was found dead, apparently from blunt force trauma to the head, several blocks from my school. So far, they think she was homeless. Please pray for the respite of her soul, that whoever did this gets apprehended before he hurts someone else, and for our safety. Lately, there has been a string of instances of men accosting female students on campus, but so far no one has been hurt. Earlier this year, we had a string of robberies. We never had this much crime in my four years here before.
 
This is awful. Praying for the woman who lost her life. Be aware of your surroundings. Walk in a group if you can. Keep your keys out. I, too, attend a university in a big city and I have an emergency alarm keychain.

Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. A woman was violently taken from us. Come swiftly to her aid, have mercy on her, and comfort her family and friends by the power and protection of the Cross. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Lord, help the police find the person who committed this crime and protect the community while he or she remains at large. Amen.

Praying for the safety of all in and around your campus. Praying for the repose of the soul of the homeless woman.
