Here is a thread for homer to explain verses from the Bible, since homer likes to say how everything is in the Bible and we don’t need anything outside of the Bible.

For homer’s first performance, I would like him to explain the following verse:

“If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.” - 1 John 5:16-17

homer, which sins are not deadly and how does that fit into your personal theology?

Bump for homer to answer the question about the Bible, since the Bible is so important to him and he understands it so much better than us deluded Catholics.

Looks like you might be waiting awhile…homer doesn’t seem interested in studying the Bible with us.

Homer come seek truth you ask we will answer we ask you answer sound fair?

I will add to this, where in the bibloe is the list of books that belong in the bible (I mean for sola scriptura to hold it must contain within it’s text the books that comprise right?)

lets stick to one thing at a time or Homer will go off ona number of different topics all at once just to avoid the question.

I don’t think homer is going to respond to any of the questions we pose to him. He doesn’t seem interested in any truths unless they’re from his perspective.

homer could use a little more christian chairity and a little less darts thrown his way… hang in there homer, i have no doubt your mind is open for business… 👍

Most Protestants interpret to the “sword of the spirit” in Ephesians as referring to the Bible. Curious interpretation as all of the books of the Bible (Revelation) were not yet written when Ephesians was…

Poor Homer,

He apparently has bought in to the stuff on the anti-Catholic sites.

Hopefully he will continue to read the apologetics material at Catholic Answers.

Let’ s all keep Homer in our prayers.

Ahem …

And then there’s the schoolboy’s comment about the other Homer (“Iliad” and “Odyssey”):

“Homer was not written by Homer but by another man of the same name.”

All I can say is, “D’oh!” 🙂

Perhaps Homer is busy prepairing for his finals? Good luck, Homer!
