You might like looking at Love 2 Learn’s reviews. They specificly list many phonics and phonics readers to choose from.

Keeping it Catholic is okay, but that doesn’t really help you when tryign to make a purchase choice online because you can’t flip open the book most of the time to look for those tell tale details. Although she doest give some good pointers and perspectives, imho. (Although we greatly enjoy Harry Potter in this house and have found no demonic possessions of dabbling in the occult because of it.😉 )

Oh and I completely forgot about Little Angel Readers! They are VERY fun and color filled and Catholic. I gave my entire set away because it was just TOO teacher intensive for me, but if YOu have the time to do all the crafts and games and such - you might really like it.

By the way, what does DR-only mean? **
Douay-Rhemes version of the Bible. As in that’s the only Bible they accept as inspired and incorrupt. Kinda like the Catholic answer to King James version only Protestants.

Okay, thanks. 👍 How do I know if Horizons is Protestant or not? I know they aren’t Catholic but they are Christian.

I’ve never heard of Horizons. Do you have a local Christian bookstore? Lots of times they sell homeschool supplies there, so you could flip through the book and check it out.

It is from Alpha Omega Publications.
I bought the Horizons Math for my son. Looks great from what I have seen so far!!! They have a website but it doesn’t really let you see inside their books, kwim?
But at the fair I looked inside the math book as much as I could before purchasing it.
I was looking at their reading program for Kinder.

**I know a lot of Catholic hs-ers who use the math, but I don’t knwo any who use the reading/phonics. Idon’t know if that’s because they just don’t liek it, or anti-catholic or simply prefer something else though.🤷 **

Hi not a homeschooler here, but just FYI after reading some of the responses last night on how good the Bob books are I was in Costco tonight and found them. I do live in Nevada so not sure if they would be at your Costco and they were 9.99 for each set.

Thanks so much for letting us know this!! The cheapest I have found so far is $60 for all 5 sets but $50 for all 5 is even better!!!👍 **
