We are not supposed to do servile labor on Sundays, right? So is it wrong to do homework?
did your homework assignment involve digging ditches or rebuilding an engine or plowing a field? it think this is the kind of servile labor this law of the Churc has in mind. What is enjoined is keeping the Lord’s day holy, sanctifying it with worship specifically Mass, having family time and down time. If you consecrate this day to the Lord, you acknowledge that time itself is his gift, and ensure that the rest of your week will be spent profitably in doing his will.We are not supposed to do servile labor on Sundays, right? ~ Kathy ~Ha, no, actually it is my little sister. I graduated a few years ago.Did you have homework that you should have done and used the excuse that it was Sunday and therefore you didn’t do it? I, somehow, think that the aforementioned excuse is not good enough. Nice try though!

I was thinking something along the same lines. A lot of times homework has to be done on Sundays not out of necesity but because of not taking the time on Saturday. Thanks for your insights and God bless you and your family, especially the unborn one! When I was in university, I understood that being a good student was my job. So I didn’t do homework or any sort of school work on Sundays. However, this meant that I generally had to give up at least part of my Saturdays to get it done before Sunday and that I was often alone on Sunday evenings as my friends were doing all their work at the last minute.
There were a few cases when I did “work” on Sundays, like if I had a final on Saturday and another on Monday and Sunday was the only day I had to study for the second one. In the case I just tried to keep it to a minimum and make sure I went to Mass and still took plenty of time out to rest.
