I recently received a copy of this magazine in the mail trying to get me to subscribe. I enjoyed reading it. What do you think of it? Should I ask fot it for Christmas? A priest I know thought it was solid enough.

I received a copy of it also. I had never heard of it, but I read it cover to cover and found the articles to be very informative and interesting, though I thought the author of “The Male Priesthood: Wearing the Jewels of the Bride” was a bit of a stretch in some of her explanations. I think there was a definite feminine agenda to the article, but it was still interesting in spite of that.

For an introductory price of $10.00 for the next 11 issues I’ll think you’ll get your money’s worth. I sent my check in today.

Hilde, I also received a complimentary copy. I’d seen some other issues - it’s also available online - and know it to be a very fine Catholic publication - and the subscription is costly! 👍

I received it, too. The problem I see with it is that it implies that the Novus Ordo mass is bad and the TLM is good, which I think is heretical. The article on “Priestly Narcissism Today” says that the NO mass promotes narcissism among priests. This seems to be a SSPX agenda, not a Catholic agenda.

Just my :twocents:

It was - and maybe still is - edited by Fr. Kenneth Baker, a priest respected for his orthodoxy and fidelity to the Magisterium, and one not taken in by “the spirit of Vatican II”.

Would that more priests consulted this before ascending the pulpit on Sundays!

I subscribed to it for a while. It was interesting but did not address problems of interest to me. If the articles interest you I would definitely recommend it. I have never seen anything to indicate that it is not fully Catholic.

In the past it was a bit “loose”, but has become a good solid item. Well worth the price which is not that bad.

I have subscribed for about a year, and find it an excellent magazine, I highly recommend it.

It’s a great Catholic magazine, by all means subscribe.

Completely agree. You cannot do much better. If you read this for a year you will be wealthy in knowledge of Christ, Mary, the Priesthood, and moral truths on how to live. In can do you very little harm and very much good for this life and beyond.

I would read the Dietz (November - The Male Priesthood: Wearing the Jewels of the Brid) a second time all the way through and a little closer. The concept of the priest taking on the Bride through me at first and I still am not fully sold on the theology but all of the surrounding references and arguments are quite true and paradigm shifting in today’s counter-feminist (real feminists are those that celebrate the pro-creative nurturing role of women) oriented culture - and in reading it closely I get the picture that even many orthodox members of the Catholic Church sometimes are deceived by these current culture influences on what a woman and man should do.

As a man, I found the article challenging but perhaps that is the way it should be.
