The recent announcement of the appointment of a new Metropolitan for the Ruthenian Church and his upcoming enthronement reminded me of this homily when Metropolitan Judson, of blessed memory was enthroned back in 1995. It was given by Bishop George Kuzma, of blessed memory, of the Eparchy of Van Nuys (now Phoenix).

I thought some here might remember this or be interested in it.

Many remember +Metropolitan Judson as supportably the best leader the Ruthenian Church has had in its history in America. +Bishop Kuzma’s words were prophetic in many ways.

We reflect on all of this as the Ruthenian Church has been leaderless for some time, but now looks ahead to the leadership of Metropolitan-elect William. We pray that he is inspired by the Holy Spirit to lead his flock well.
