at daily Mass, our priest during the homily tries to talk to the congregation and calls people by name and asks them questions. usually people are very hesitant to answer and its a real short answer and as he gets going he gets the whole congregation to give short vocal replys to his questions, and sometimes someone will make a sentence long comment. at the end he always asks “any questions?” no one has ever asked one though. He also gives the homily out in front of the altar closer to the people. I am not sure, I just find this slightly conversational homily to be a little uncomfortable.
