Homosexual lip locks worthy of advertising support says General Mills/Betty Crocker

General Mills sponsored the October 22 episode of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. Brothers & Sisters suggested illicit sex and championed gay sex during the episode.

In the October 22 episode, titled “Date Night,” the focus is on sexual relationships and the family’s failing business empire. There are countless references to illicit sex, and Jonathan and Kitty treat viewers to a graphic phone-sex segment in which Jonathan instructs Kitty to disrobe. (They are former sex partners, and Jonathan moves back in with Kitty and her mother.)

In the same episode, Kevin, the gay lawyer, forges a relationship with a new man, and viewers get to witness a couple of the men’s passionate kisses, one of them pretty graphic.

Send an email to General Mills, asking them to stop sponsoring ABC’s Brothers & Sisters due to the explicit sex and homosexual scenes.

There was a show here in Canada until recently called “Queer and Folk” which was pretty much gay porn. And on at prime time, when children could be watching.
 
We don’t have television anymore - first, we don’t need to give our money to the networks, cable or satellite people.

Second, we don’t have to worry about what filth will be on commercials - let alone the programs.

Californication, Queer as Folk, The “L” word and Desperate Housewives are more than enough to convince me to find a better place to put my money.

I still have withdrawal symptoms from time to time after almost a year, but hey, not too many alocholics would say that they had their sobriety secured and strong in only a year’s time. :gopray:

Thank you very much for that. Informed Catholics really should understand that TV is addictive and that immorality on network television is on the rise. ABC is the worst. Brothers and Sisters is the most dysfunctional program, and it centers around immoral sexuality.

I don’t find tv addictive at all. And I will continue to buy General Mills cereal no matter what they sponsor. If anyone wants to call me immoral, I will choose to ignore them.

I rarely watch the broadcast channels except for sports. Most of the time I have the classical music channels or DYI on.

Since pretty much everything you post is simply dissent, one would think your time would be better spent on a webiste where you actually got along with people.

I am not encouraging you to leave, but you do seem angsty simply posting dissent EVERY time.
 
Does anyone else think it’s gross that a show entitled Brothers and Sisters is pretty much all about sex? I’ve never seen the show, but that is what I gather from the commercials

There is nothing immoral about Sally Field!!! I will always love and watch her! 👍
Informed Catholics can think for themselves and I believe, (last time I checked) TVs come with an on and off switch.

Nobody is calling you immoral. If you chose not to boycott these products that is up to you. You will live with it in your heart.

Usually if people are bothered by someones comments it is because they have a problem with that particular thing.

I’m reminded of what Christopher west said in a Life on the Rocket segment called “Body Language” (original air date 9/27/07). Christopher mentions how one of Paul’s letters says that “those who live by the spirit are free from the law.” That would mean that we are free to follow the law and not free to break it. He said that the law is written in our hearts and we don’t NEED a commandment if we don’t even want to break it.
Chances are. if someone is bothered by a certain comment, it could mean that the person has a problem in his heart about the comment and does not think that what was said is wrong. I hope I didn’t confuse anyone. :confused: I think many of you know what I mean though because I’ve seen people post about this before.

No one said that Sally Field was immoral. Although I could make a comment about her participation in such a show.

This is part of the problem… people such as yourself saying it is okay to have programs like this on the air and that we could just turn it off if we want. That is not the problem! The problem is that the show is on in the first place. Not every parent can control their kids. Not every spouse can control their spouse. Not every brother can control their brother or sister. So the “off” switch is out of the question in certain cases. It needs to start by certain programs not even being made from the start.

General Mills says their ad during the program was not approved by the company and run by local stations without their permission. [Posted 11-2-06] which is from the company website you originally posted from where the link does not work.

Apparently this is also from last year? SO really its not even an issue anymore

My wife and I like the show. It is one that we record if we can’t watch it when it is on. Maybe OneMillionMoms need to get a life!

Who gets to decide? I like the show and I am mature enough to watch it. I don’t want some other person making that choice for me. Thank you very much.
 
This is all new to me. I haven’t watched TV for over 5 years. I have one, but only watch the news and occasionally The Food Network (I love Alton Brown!) and EWTN when there’s something interesting on.

I haven’t watched any netowrk tv since 2001. I get by with DVD’s and the radio. Besides, I know more of what’s on tv by word of mouth either in person or from talk radioAs for General Mills, buy the off brands, I find no difference in taste or quality of the off-brand foods.

Some of us would rather use the plug as our ‘Off’ switch.
As for Sally Field, I saw that The Flying Nun is now on DVD.
