The Online Etymology Dictionary traces the use of “gay” as an adjective with homosexual overtones back to the late 19th/early 20th century. But yes, “gay” as a noun doesn’t seem to appear until 1971. etymonline.com/index.php?search=gay&searchmode=noneFirst I am asking why homosexuals have taken to referring to themselves as “gay”. You can read many vintage books and there is no hint in the context that gay in anyway is related to being homosexual.
I am not sure what you mean by “what their sexual exploits entail”? Do you mean that they routinely and publicly describe the sex they had? I haven’t encountered this.Second I cannot understand why any person would go around and intentionally making public what their sexual exploits entail.
This sounds very consistent with Catholic teaching, and Catholics should pay attention to it.If one knows one is a homosexual because they are acting it out it should remain a private matter that one might discuss with a confessor but not advertise to all they come in contact with.
