True. I’m a supporter of traditional marriage, and you’re 100% right that its not our call to make. I just don’t believe those who are gay, and have a relationship with someone they love are committing mortal sins and when they die, since their in a state of mortal sin would go to hell

I know what you mean. Such a tough stand to make. I mean what if a guy’s wrong in either direction?

But I’ll still wait to see what the Church says. Because I sure can’t trust myself here.

Homosexual relationships/ those in same sex marriages are not mortal sinners destined to hell. It’s a venial sin.

We can’t make this judgment, JC. If they know it is grave matter, and freely chose it, then it is mortal.

It is indeed grave matter.  However most of them are loving people.  Just your normal guy.  They are not harming anyone and I know many who are compassionate in their relationships.

It is not up to us to say who they are harming, besides themselves. God has other plans for their lives that they are not fulfilling, and none of us can know who is going to lack the benefits because they are disobedient.

There are far worse venial sins, and their SIN IS IN A ACT OF LOVE. I agree marriage is between one man and women, but its dangerous and silly to condem those in same sex relationships to hell.

It is not an act of love. Love always strives for what is best for the other person. What is best for all human beings is to answer the Call of God for their lives.

I agree with you that it is dangerous and inappropriate to condemn anyone to hell. The Church teaches that we cannot know these things.

Basically what you are saying is that you reject the teaching of the Church that this is a grave matter.

We cannot know if a person is in mortal sin because they need to know that it is a grave matter, and freely choose it.

All who die in a state of mortal sin will go to hell, but it is not our call to decide which persons those are.
