really? is that the solution?

how about those protestants pastors married that not only commit such act but also kill their victims? what is your solution for this?

👍

Priests who molest children, priests who have affairs with men, and priests who have affairs with women all have the following in common: they are unfaithful to their priestly vows of celibacy(which is a promise to God Himself). If these men were married, why in the world would we think they would be faithful to their marriage vows (a promise to a mere mortal)? How would it help anyone to have innocent women marrying priests who are either criminal-molesters or adulterers? There’s no logic there.

Priests who cannot adhere to the teachings of the Magesterium, either by creating their own version of the Catechism or campaigning for an end to a celibate priesthood, should realize they have no place in the Catholic Church.

I’ve concluded that homosexuals are particularly attracted to the priesthood for at least these five reasons.
Code:
(1) No one is going to ask or wonder why they're not married.

(2) Many gays, understandably, want a position that is respected and the priesthood has been one.

(3) Many gays hope that their vow of celibacy will keep them from acting out their human sexuality - a way to repress and perhaps eradicate the temptations associated with it. One can respect this motivation if it succesfully keeps them from falling into
sexual sin.
Code:
(4) The fact that it is an all-male calling is attractive to some gays.

(5) There are certain things about Catholic ritual that may have a special appeal to some gays, perhaps especially the vestments.

There could be a sixth one. Gays as a group may be more sensitive to human need and also more sensitive generally. This can be a positive quality in priests, but not if it leads to inappropriate intimacy.

However, all this means problems. Just during the past week two area scandals bbroke in our area. (1) A priest was arrested for stealing over $1.3 million which he spent on a hidden but luxurious lifestyle, involving male escorts in New York City. (2) Another priest nearby has been accused of preying upon a young boy years ago, trying to intimidate and bribe him until the young man (now) has spoken out.

Difficult to know what to do. Gays who are consistently celibate may have a place in the priesthood, but apparently too many of them can't abide by their vows. Most of the scandal seems to have emanated with them. My guess would be that many more are sexually active with other adults, men or women, which is wrong considering their vows, but not a crime. One partial solution is to permit marriage of priests.
I can understand why you would ponder the above ideas, but unfortunately the problem is not so benign. I would recommend checking out the book “Goodbye Good Men: How Catholic Seminaries Turned Away Two Generations of Vocations From the Priesthood”. It is written by Michael S. Rose and sheds a lot of light on the homosexual agenda that overtook many seminaries. It also discusses how the vocation “problem” was actually manufactured in many respects. EWTN priest Fr. Trigilio gives his testimony in the book, among others.

Yeah… at the same time that this regime was in charge of various seminaries, you would be crushed if you expressed an interest in saying the Tridentine Mass.

Please read the thread in this section (more about this priest) “keep your nonsense to yourself”.

Apparently this priest has been very publically vocal about his dissidence and his loathing for Church teaching in the area of homosexuality and abortion. If this is truly the case and he has spoken out publically numerous times on the issue as the article says…they need to GET…RID…OF…HIM the sooner the better. He should no way in this world be able to pass on his twisted theology and threaten the souls of others with HIS NONSENSE. The last thing he should be doing is passing on the faith!!! Are you kidding me??? We have had quite enough heresy taught by our clergy in the past 30 to 40 years. They have watered down the Mass, some of them done away with confession, some of them consecrating weird things at Mass…some of them telling their flock communion is just a meal, that there is no such thing as the real presense…some of them teaching exactly what this guy is actively promoting.
The people in the pews should be absolutely fed up to here with this kind of garbage.
It’s infuriating that this guy is even still there!!!:mad::mad:

This regime, as you accurately call it, had/has a counterpart among women religious as well. Sisters in Crisis: The Tragic Unraveling of Women’s Reglious Communities by Ann Carey sheds a lot of light on the subject.
