Homosexual acts are icky—unnatural! Not designed for this at all.

Unless I’m in error, straight people do all the things gay people do. Of course, not all straight people have anal sex, but not all gay people do either. So there’s a lot of icky to go around.

Often when I see responses like that it’s the result of internalized sexism.

What? How is stating that straight people have similar sex lives to gay people a result of internalised sexism? Aside from anal sex, they do.*

*Studies show that a large percentage of gay ppl don’t actually engage in anal sex, according to my phsycial therapist.

I think Joie was talking about the quotation I was responding to, not my quotation.

I wasn’t referring to PS’s post hence my use of “that” instead of “this”, don’t feel bad about that distinction, most native Anglophones would also fail to understand that distinction.

The Catechism states:

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. **They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. **

That’s pretty clear.

I see homosexuality as a case of arrested development of normal human sexual growth.

I also see that it is an addictive thing, and a predatory thing and a disease-filled thing in consequence of this. It’s not for nothing that all human societies have forbidden or worked to restrain this vice.

Calling evil “acceptable” is inacceptable. One should never be tolerant, or forced to be tolerant, of sin.

Do you have anything to support this belief?

This thread has been dormant for a considerable period. With rare exceptions, reviving threads after a protracted period of inactivity is discouraged because:
  • the issues that spurred them are often no longer “hot” or current topics, explaining why thread activity ceased originally.
  • posters originally involved in the discussion are sometimes no longer active on the forum and, therefore, unavailable to reply to comments added to the thread.
Our experience suggests that, when a topic merits revival, it is best accomplished by initiating a new thread that draws on recent events and can be posted to contemporaneously. This eliminates the baggage of folks being frustrated by asking and not receiving responses to issues raised in early posts (because the new poster didn’t notice that the post he was responding to was made a long time ago).

Posters are very welcome to open a new thread on the subject or any other topic, as well as to actively participate in the myriad active threads in the fora.

Thank you to all those who have participated in this discussion. This thread is now closed. **
