Actually according to the UCMJ (military law) it is still just as illegal to participate in homosexual behavior. Also technically my husband is not allowed to have sex with me in any other position than missionary. lol. Anyways, what people didn’t realize was that the don’t ask don’t tell was so that homosexuals/bisexuals could serve and avoid being prosecuted for homosexual activity (they just had to keep it private and no one was allowed to ask them even if they suspected). But because this misunderstanding is so widespread (even in the military) they don’t enforce the laws against homosexual behavior and homosexuals and bisexuals can serve without hiding their sexuality.

Is this a joke?
I had a friend who went to basic at Fort Knox for Cav Scout OSUT.
He said they do this drill called “nut to but”(it means what it says, you put your nuts on the man in front of you in lines but and the whole line does it. It is inherently gay and also no one I knew that was in the service before the Iraq war had to do it.) and these things called shower drills where everyone gets naked and lines up for the shower and the drill will sometimes say “nut-to-but privates”. He said when they did nut-to-but during shower drills out of a platoon of 30 he was the ONLY one who refused and stepped out of line.
My cousin, who served in the beginning of the Iraq war, has some insight about the military and also confirmed this for me (I didn’t believe it at first trust me). Not only is nut-to-but real (wow did you guys just hear me? go ask a cav scout or tanker), but it gets worse. When my cousin got shot by an ak-47 (very big round), it obviously did considerable damage to his vest. He not only got shot for his country, he got blown up and he also killed for his country (he still has flash-backs about that every day). The army told him if he wants a new vest he has to buy it. Because they don’t pay jack, he just finished his CAV SCOUT (the guaranteed combat MOS) rotation with a vest that he already got shot in and blown up in. This is all after being tricked into going nut-to-butt every day for most of OSUT. He also got recycled in basic and had to do it twice.
Also, you know those big bonuses!? 20,000 to be a Cav Scout and all that right. Well if you get your leg blown off in combat and can’t “finish your contract” in the MOS you signed up for (due to your leg getting blown off) THEY TAKE AWAY THESE KIDS BONUSES. Shame on them for not finishing their contract though right? That is the mentality of rich people that never served in combat.
If you want the truth about the Army, you have to do some digging.(IDK about marines, my other cousin is still in Afghanistan to my knowledge but I will ask him when he gets back).
I love my country, I love our soldiers, I despise our leaders for allowing this to continue. Have a little decency and pay our soldiers REAL respect instead of flying some jets over a stupid foot ball game. They were losing limbs for years because the army just wanted to be cheap about under-armoring the humvees. Lets take the price of keeping those jets in the air and put it towards more armor for the vehicles because they need it bad.
Also, the M4 jams all the time either let them carry the special forces variant (the action makes it as reliable as an AK in the desert and as practical as an M4) or let them carry AK’s. They (not all but most) are prohibited from carrying AK’s. This is corporate warfare.
Now ask yourself, if this is all true (which it is), why are soldiers not speaking up about it?
Check the suicide rate.
Write your congressman or don’t pretend to honor our soldiers.

Please DO NOT pray for me. I will pray for myself, my family (that is also Catholic) will pray for me. I DO NOT want some bigoted person praying for my Soul. As I said, do a search on thse forums, and you will find that it is basically the same people that start the topics on homosexuals, post to the topics. Oh, and BTW… we prefer being called gay or lesbian, NOT homosexual… do you like being called a bigot ?

Ya, I do have to agree that people have way too big of a focus on homosexuality. It seems that many are way more concerned what others choose to do with their genitalia among willing adults then the bigger issues around the world like the 29,000 dying each day of malnutrition and malnutrition related diseases, poverty, homelessness, or how many even in the U.S. who are sex slaves or forced (by threats and violence) into prostitution (the average age of a girl going into prostitution in the U.S. is 13). Not saying that homosexuality is a non-issue, but as a bisexual (who is chaste by the standards of the Catholic Church I am in a heterosexual sacramental marriage) it is strange to me how focused so many are on that issue. Even more focused on it than I am and I have same sex attraction.

The child is not proud to have cancer which is not a sin. The widow is not proud to be a widow which is not a sin.
Do you not understand that the child with cancer will be greatly rewarded? Do you not understand that the widow will be greatly rewarded?
It is he who is proud of his sin that we should be afraid for.
He is the one in real danger, not the dying child nor the widow. Quite the opposite, they are close to eternal life. An end to their suffering is what I would request. I would have also requested an end to Job’s suffering, yet he did not curse God and die. That shows he had wisdom greater than you or me.
