I always think of the words Our wants are many our needs are few.

How many of us can really say that we have many NEEDS! Not wants Needs!!

I think For myself I need to thank God for what I have, not what I want. What do we really need in this world except Love, a little food, and a place to sleep! And knowing that God will provide all of that for us. Some how some way he always comes through!!

I am guilty of not counting my blessings and not thanking Him for them.

Something I NEED to rectify.

Great thought for the day. 🙂

Thank you. I am one that needs to work on the needs & wants.

I have been struggling with on and off unemployment for the past two years since I was forced to resign from a full-time position due to my being a pro-life Catholic. I could really use prayers to find a steady job. I have been blessed at some points during this time with temporary positions … one of which really liked me and wanted to hire me full time, except then had layoffs due to the economy. At the moment I am unemployed again and looking for work.

Here’s one of my prayer threads on the subject:

And then there’s spiritualunity, another CAF member who is much worse off than myself. Here’s part of her story:

She was recently brought in to the ER due to extreme and potentially life-threatening edema, but due to being disabled and having no insurance beyond Medicare or Medicaid (I always confuse them), she was not admitted to the hospital. Only way she got back home was by spending her medication money for the month (which had been a mother’s day gift) on a taxi.

Here’s a quote from one of her posts in the Christian Resignation/Surrender social group:

"Please please pray for me to have a priest come give me the sacraments and for my salvation.

"This is just the beginning of the changes in health care. It is already scary enough.
Even the er doctor said, well I will probably see you back in a few days. Not only that but medicare might not pay for ambulance since I was not admitted into the hospital. I see and experience the evil spreading already. As I sat in a wheelchair waiting for the taxi, dying of thirst and in front of a soda machine I had only money for the taxi. I live in an upscale neighborhood, but in assisted living and I am extremely poor and I looked around at the many frowning faces of the well to do as they passed me like I was invisible, (Like the nurses and doctors did), struggling to push myself a few feet in this awkward wheelchair.

"Sure, I am poor so I will be the first to feel the effects of this world crumbling, but it will eventually hit all. I wish I could wake people up,but all I can do is pray and offer Jesus my sufferings for their salvation and mine too.

"Thank you for taking the time to listen to me. I hope none of you go through an experience like this. I do not know at any time my fluid could fill my lungs and heart. It is really sad. It is really sad to see my brothers and sisters not realizing I am their sister. Too much caught up in their materialistic struggles. When will God be first? I am afraid it will take alot more before people wake up…reminds me of Noah’s time.

You’re welcome to read it straight from the horse’s mouth at the above link, and drop her a Private Message if you have a question.

Also, please say a prayer for her if you get the chance.
Thanks.

I have many wants but, I guess not so many needs. However, I get confused between them.

It’s a very long story but I have recently moved out of my house (which was home) due to deaths in the family… I am now living in rented accomodation. It is a perfect little house and is much more than I expected to find on my low income. I am unable to work because of disability. I live alone except for my 2 cats. I am in my 50’s and never been married. That’s another long story about wants and needs but it isn’t relevant now.

I have all the furnishings I need. I have enough money to feed myself and warm myself but… I want. Sometimes my needs and wants become one. This is my first home and I want my garden to be full of plants and flowers because I need them to remind me of life and I need to nurture them to grow. I don’t know if these are wants or needs.

All I know is that if I express in a very quick prayer, a want for something good in my life, like the plants, they come from a friend or a special offer that I can afford.

A very good question. Thank you.
