Honor Father & Mother - but what about Brother & Sister?

We are to honor our parents and take care of our children.

But what about brothers and sisters? Do we have a Christian obligation to treat our siblings any differently than our neighbor?

the passage I love to quote to my kids is where Jesus is speaking about the commandment not to kill, and tells the apostles, he who calls his brother a blockhead is guilty of murder and will be cast into the pit. The command to honor father and mother, like all the commadments, covers more than the literal words, and sanctifies the family and family relationships, and by extension social relationships and contracts, governments and lawful authority.

Love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind and all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Neighbor = everybody else).

What you do unto the least of these, you do unto me – Jesus.
