Ok so my parents have told me to let them know when I am going to leave the house and go some where and I always do but today I didn’t because they where in Jamaica on a vacation and I figured what is the point to ask them if they arnt even in the same country. Did I break my parents rule here or the 4th commandment by not doing so. Thanks

Wait, did they just leave for Jamaica today? Are they in the air with no phone contact as we speak? Were they in Jamaica yesterday? Did you talk to them yesterday and tell them where you were going? To me, it’s common courtesy to let family members know where one is going to be. What if you tried to call the hotel in Jamaica, and your parents had decided they were going to ‘island hop’ or go on a 3 day campout but didn’t tell you? Wouldn’t you be a bit worried if they didn’t call you and weren’t where you had figured they would be?

The more important question is: Who’s in charge when they’re gone?
